The People was formed by singer songwriter Rafael Bustamante Sarria four years ago. The People is based out of the San Francisco Bay area and has created a unique fusion of Reggae, Salsa/Cumbia, Hip-Hop, Rock, Funk, and Reggaeton. The group consists of some of the top player in the Bay has become of the most popular live music acts in the Bay Area. Lyrically The People have a strong message of Positiviy, Unity of all cultures and 1-LOVE, the lyrics are in both English and Spanish. They have performed numerous festivals, radio stations, Colleges and such major venues as The Great American Music Hall and Slims in San Francisco as well as The Viper room and The Knitting Factory in Los Angeles. The Group has performed all the U.S. from Las Vegas to Manhattan and even Cartagena-Colombia, Managua-Nicaragua, and Santiago-Chile. Thier Notoriety and showmanship have found them sharing bills with other major artists as George Clinton and the P-Funk Allstars, E-40, Lyrics Born, The Digital Underground, Coolio, Pato Banton, Batch & RAS Attitude, Heiro Glyphics, and Pete Escovedo. The People have created a large and loyal fan base throughout the United States and is planning on touring Europe this fall.
