Fire & Grace
Prevailing Words does Hip-hop a little different. When Josh and Sarah first got married they both had a passion for music. Josh was in a Christian hip-hop group called R.O.C. and Sarah had sung in praise teams and choirs. They wanted to work on music together but were unsure how their talents and styles could combine. After months of prayer they decided to go into the studio and see what happened. Eight months later their album Fire and Grace was released. The first song they had completed was My Shame. This song combines Sarah and Josh's testimonies with very full production. This song set the stage for what was to come and was a crowd pleaser from the beginning. In April of 2005, seeking to improve their live performance Prevailing Words entered the Washington State Christian Talent Contests. Quite to their surprise they made it to the finals and won 2nd place for songwriting with their song Glorify. The song was also featured on an Oasis Sampler CD sent out to hundreds of people in the music industry. Glorify has been featured twice on Isounds.com's Hip-hop web radio show. Another song that has received a lot of attention is Hit Him Up. Besides keeping the hands in the air, this song presents the story of Josh's past life and how God got a hold of him. So many people have been touched by the raw honesty of this song. It was also featured on DJ Hazit's web radio show on Holyhiphop.com. Prevailing Words did a regional tour in may of 2005 and then a national tour from Seattle Washington all the way to Georgia and everywhere in between in the fall of 2005. Always seeking to improve their live performance, they are sure to keep you entertained. In March of 2006 they had their first child which is why there is not a second CD yet, but you won't have to wait long, they are in the studio again now! The price of Fire and Grace has recently been reduced while supplies last. Get one before they're gone!
