Hymns for Him
Born June 24, 1958, Randy began classical piano lessons at six years of age. Influenced by jazz as a teen, he attended the jazz curriculum at Humber College (Ontario, Canada) in the late 1970s. Along with a few graduate members of the college, he became part of a nine piece band that toured Central and Western Canada playing a mixture of music including disco, funk, rock and even big band jazz. Guided by the Lord back into music after a twenty year break from performing, Randy is now an active member of his local church, where he plays for Sunday morning services and accompanies the junior choir. His influences cover many musical styles and include George Duke, Rick Wakeman, Chuck Leavell, Vince Guaraldi, Josef Zawinul, Michael McDonald, Chester Thompson and even Beethoven. Randy's musical style includes classical, blues, R&B, jazz, rock and gospel. 'I enjoyed playing these songs and thank you for listening. I ask that you consider looking up the lyrics to these songs, so that you can read (or sing) along while you're listening and allow God to speak to you through the words of these inspired songwriters.' Currently in the works is a CD of mostly original songs, of various styles. These songs talk about the challenges of living and growing as a Christian and building relationships with a lost world.
