This is my second CD. I grew up in rural New Brunswick, Canada and have been involved in music for many years.I am a member of The New Brunswick Country Music Hall of Fame.My older sister Marion showed me a few chords on a guitar many years ago.The songs I write are about things I grew up with or was told about. I remember the hard times my family had years ago but was too young to know how hard they were for Mom and Dad.We had no running water (carried from a cool spring over a hundred yard from the house, also no hydro for many years) I am the youngest of ten children and am a retired Forest Ranger thus the long delay in writing and recording. Most all the things you hear in my songs are true and mostly about a past that should not be forgotten.I hope some of them will bring back a few memories in your life of a past that should never be forgotten. Thank you for listening to my music. The first song 'Early Belleisle ' is about the village I live in. 'A Thousand Questions' is about my 5 year old grand daughter asking things, I had her do the song with me. She was 5 years old at the time.'The Spotted Pony' is about my pony I had as a young boy. He was called Champ.'Memories Track' was given to me by my older sister who played a big part in my life of music.'The Guardian' is a story about my grandfather Matthew Scarlett who was a cowboy in the late 18 hundreds in Arizona and Utah. My son Peter sings this song. He followed the same trails his great grand dad rode so many years ago. Our cousins still run the Red Rock Rides in the Grand Canyon.'The Model T ' is about the first car in our area as was told to me.'Stroll with Me' is about a more quiet peaceful time of life.'The Little One ' is a true story about a little bird dog called Alder and his master, Robert Hawkes of Mass. USA. 'I Wish ',I wrote so my granddaughter Emily could sing with me . She was 6 years old at the time. 'Back Then ' is a song about my father and older brothers going to work in the woods so we could live .'Play Old Liberty ' is about a regular Friday night dance years ago at our local hall.'Walk With Jesus is my gospel song. I hope you enjoy some of my old style songs and they bring back some good memories of the past. Thank you for listening and buying my music, Randy Vail.
