Up Close Pop
'Master Take', the first featured song in his jazz collection, sets the pace in his personal musical journey. The groove is bumpy and up beet. The tone and flavor, many claimed, is close to Wes Montgomery. Yet, reprising this same groove on 'Master Rock', we hear more of the influence in tone and sound of Jimi Hendrix. Placing Rawatson in one particular genre might be a limiting and difficult task. His sound, tone, flavor had been greatly influenced by such wide range of great giants in guitar world such as: Grant, Santana, Beck, Benson, Satriani and Matheny. As a seasoned guitar player in the Metro-Detroit area, his maiden jazz CD 'Up Close' sets the pace, bumpy and up beat, bringing the sound of the past classic beats to a more modern rhythm. He released the CD on his own and radio and internet stations played many of his songs in the collection. Projects are also in the back burner in such musical genre as blues, folks, rock and inspirational. As an independent producer, musician and performer, Rawatson will be releasing many of his original works. Hear the full energy and positive outlook in his music for he feels he has allot to say and to offer.
