Only a Day
THE REGELS...KINDA LIKE CELINE DION- BUT NOT REALLY. Standing over 25 feet tall and weighing in at over 700 pounds, the Regels (pronounced Regal)champion the cause that is 'just good rock music.' Concocted in a super-secret Chicago lab by sexually inactive scientists the Regels are now playing prominent Chicago rock clubs such as the Double Door and Elbo Room. Frontman Jimmy Turner says, 'After a long year of practice, calisthenics, drunken bar fights, and lawsuits, we think we're finally ready to take the next step with our music and totally undermine our own health and financial security. Some people ask, 'How do you guys keep the hope alive in this topsy-turvy world?' I just say: 'Sangria, Alice, sangria.' Now getting airplay on Chicago's finest rock stations, 93.1 WXRT and 94.7 the Zone, this 4-piece has been described with words such as lush, driving, well-written, and 'holy shit, these guys rock!' They've also been called beer-swilling assholes, but what does that have to do with the music really? The Regels sight influences such as old school rockers: Zeppelin, the Stones, and the Beatles; and contemporary acts like Wilco, Smashing Pumpkins, Blind Melon, Urge Overkill, and Tom Petty. The Regels feature original music written by an original band.
