Two CD set. The development of the new reggae sound in the late 60s, resulted in a new wave of young, dynamic Jamaican record producers making their mark on the island's music scene. Of these hugely influential music-makers, perhaps the most overlooked today is Alvin 'G. G. ' Ranglin. This set, the first of a number of collections featuring Ranglin's best-loved works, aims to redress this injustice. The primary focus of the collection is the two best-selling Trojan albums from 1970, each of which feature a dozen of his finest productions from the period, when the reggae beat was at it's most exciting and frenetic.
