Down Home Classics
Most of my recordings up to now have been in Gospel music. Most of my influence on guitar has come from some of the greats; such as Chet Atkins, Merle Travis, Jerry Reed, Paul Yandell, Duane Eddy, Howard Roberts, James Burton, Dwayne Friend and others. I have used this influence to play mostly Gospel music; and continue to do so. However, for quite some time, I have wanted to record music that has been influenced by not only these guitar greats that I just mentioned; but also some of the vocalists that have influenced me; such as Elvis Presley, Eddie Cochran, Hank Williams and others. Making these recordings was challenging, but at the same time so very enjoyable for me. Some of these songs are from the early days of Rock and Roll that I enjoyed so much. A little bit of country, a little bit of blues, and, well, just a lot of what I feel musically. I hope you enjoy it. But anyway, thanks to all of you for taking the time to listen to these songs and thanks to all of my heroes for the inspiration to make the music. Bless you folks. Keep a song in your heart. Richard.
