A versatile musican and veteran performer in well-known organizations such as the Jimmy Dorsey, Louis Bellson, Terry Gibbs, Cab Calloway, Rob Parton and Buddy Defranco bands, Rick Holland brings a wealth of experience and musicality to every performance. Of his recent releases, You'd Be So Nice to Come Home To features jazz harmonicist Hendrik Meurkens, and Speak Low features Rick as co-leader with longtime playing partner Kerry Strayer of Kansas City Rick Holland received his Doctorate in Musical Arts in classical trumpet from Michigan State University. He is currently a Yamaha Performing Artist, a Cadence Recording Artist, and directs his own business, RuthEllen Music, which features such groups as the Uptown Society Orchestra, The Rick Holland Quartet (available with a variety of musical guests), and The Bel Canto Brass Quartet Holland now resides in Oswego, NY, where he serves as faculty in music at the State University of New York, at Oswego.
