Those Golden Dreams
This CD called Those Golden Dreams, is a compilation of songs, showing different styles and different rhythms. The first song starts out going back to my child hood with the song Those Golden Dreams, a country folk song, then moving forward to fun times on Lake Michigan beaches( Fine Night), Canadian camping trips( Cold Nights in Canada) and hiking in the mountains,(There\'s a road). I then wanted to touch on the sadness, poverty, abuses, and tragedies of life, with the songs, She\'ll always be seventeen, Island of St Kitt, Joes\'got nothing to do, Sometimes life, and Living the High life. I then continued on with songs about relationships, with My wife, Late in the night, You do the things and Those days are dead and gone. The final selection of songs reflect on the death of my father, with Sometimes and Glory. I guess the only odd song, is Running on the Fumes. This song is about cruisers. I am from Waukesha Wisconsin, about twenty miles west of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Milwaukee has a history of showing off their cars, ( hot rods) cruising up and down the street, back and forth, all night long, yelling and screaming. The movie American Graffiti touched on this and so did the television series Happy Days and Lavern and Shirley. I just seemed to find this very odd, when the price of gasoline is over $4 a gallon, that this tradition is still going on. I tried to create this song in the style of Punk, heavy on electric guitar, and drums. I hope you enjoy this CD. I would appreciate if you would purchase it, down load it, and share it. Thank you.
