Rob Thoms has been writing songs for other performers for many years. This is his first solo project in 10 years. He recorded '7 Sketches' in a dormant fish plant on the west coast of Vancouver Island, Canada, where the accoustics added a certain spooky quality to the overall sound. Originally from Montreal, Rob has been on the West coast now for 20 odd years and performs regularly in three bands as well as doing solo performances. He also does studio work for other artists, playing mandolin and guitar. '7 Sketches' was concieved and titled as 7 individual little sketches of life, love, art, and the girl from the donut shop. The production was purposely kept skeletal so that the songs could stand on their own. Rob is now working on a follow up CD which hopefully will be released early in 2007. '7 sketches' is 30-odd, high-quality minutes of beautiful songs you won't hear ANYWHERE else!
