Product Notes

It has been a long time since Coney Island 'song-pluggers' used to sit down at the beer hall piano each night to demonstrate newly born ditties from Tin Pan Alley. Today we have the Internet to showcase newly minted rock n roll ditties. Tye-Be-See Sound Studio - Boston is the exclusive recording studio of 'Rocking Thru America' and is proud to present it's new CD, Always and All Ways, which includes twelve new and original songs - all under 3 minutes in length. Always and All Ways is a very fast moving musical work (12 songs, 22 minutes) which takes full advantage of modern stereo recording techniques. In fact, it's liner notes recommended that, 'Special effects on this CD are best enjoyed using stereo headphones.' Track 1, Take Me To Your Leader, is a perfect example. The lyrics are as follows: Well I was rolling along down Highway 89 playing Rock Muse and really feeling fine when all of a sudden right out of the sky came this flying saucer with this flying saucer guy He said, TaKe mE To YoUr LeAdEr RiGhT nOw! The countdown at Cape Canaveral (Ten, Nine, Eight, Seven, Six, Five, Four, 3, Two, One) revolves in stereo effect to give the impression of flying saucer hovering around the listener in true 1950's science fiction style.  Track 2 is designed to keep life on the humorous side, Frankie Kissed Johnny. Back in those old Coney Island days mentioned earlier, a young Jimmy Durante was a piano player. His friend, Eddie Cantor, told him, 'believe me, you're going places, but not as a piano player.' 'What else can I do?' said Durante. Cantor then suggested he tell jokes while playing. Durante went on to become the most famous comedian in America. So don't just play music, make people laugh. Track 3, Good Morning, Captain, is all instrumental after an initial vocal segment. The featured instrument is a beautiful vintage early 1960's Guild Starfire III guitar with original pickups. This semi-hollow body guitar has a very sweet and rich sound. Indeed, this guitar is featured on all but two of the tracks (tracks 10 & 12) on this CD. Track 4, Raped! (In the middle of your glory), is actually supposed to be a funny song played in a New Orleans style of rhythm. This song was recorded after Katrina and inspired by the wonderful music broadcast by WWOZ-FM (Jazz and Heritage, New Orleans), which is now broadcasting in 'exile' on the internet until they can return to the air. Track 5, Sweet Share of You, is a folk tune with a pop music type of ending. The last verse, And did you know there were still some people who stand in the air who run away from all they do scare but all that they want is to get their sweet share of you Track 6, Honky Tonky Woman, begins with the famous verse of Mary Had a Little Lamb and then runs into a big bad wolf who almost kills poor Mary's lamb. The song ends on a positive note when the lamb is happily reunited with Mary. Track 7, Justine, I thought you said you were good in bed someone ought to examine your head you're gone now where did you go I want to know... Track 8, I Love the Sunshine. What if we gave America back to the indians? Would they turn it into one big gambling casino? Chief White Cloud thinks that's a great idea. Track 9, Dehlila, Dehlila, Dehlila, Light of My Day Dehlila, Dehlila, And the Lantern of My Night Track 10, Sweet Wendy. A song of innocence. Featured instrument is a G&L (Fender) Heritage solid-body guitar played as a folk instrument. This recording includes both direct input from the electrical pickups and acoustic input from a studio microphone to give the instrument a wide range of sound. Track 11, Mary Brown. This is a High School or earlier type of song, I flew a kite, it blew all over town It landed in a tree outside the house of Mary Brown O what a girl, such a beautiful girl O what a girl, want to give her a whirl She's the prettiest girl in town I want to make that Mary Brown my lover! Track 12, Percolator Song. This is the only completely instrumental selection in the collection. It also features the G&L (Fender) Heritage guitar as in track 10 and makes people wish they had learned the guitar.
