Roger Tripp grew up in a small central California town into a very musical family on both sides. He grew up with the influences of The Rambo's, The Hinsons, The Happy Goodman's in Gospel music and Merle Haggard, Roy Nichols (lead guitarist for Merle), Buck Owens, Don Rich (lead guitarist for Buck), Hank Williams, & Chet Atkins in Country music. He started playing guitar at age (10) ten, writing songs at age (15) fifteen combining both styles of music into writing positive Country and Christian Country music. On this album, he wrote 'Haggard's Home' after going to Oildale, CA & finding the boxcar that Merle was raised in, He had the chance to sit down & talk with Haggard about the song about (11) eleven months before going to record it. On the inside cover, you'll see a picture Roger & Merle with Roger's Merle Haggard tribute Fender Telecaster being signed by the Hag. The first (6) six of his projects were recorded in Nashville with the last (3) three projects being on Entro Records, a small record label. He just released his (7th) seventh CD titled: 'One Trip...p, One Time' in February of 2009, It is the first project he didn't record in Nashville using studio musicians. Including himself on accoustic & electric lead guitar, he used (7) seven current or former band members in this recording. In the first month of release, the review by radio DJ's & his fan base has described, this as his best work yet. He's had his own band since 1991 (Christian Country) & they perform at churches, fairs & other events that are geared towards a family setting. In the late 90's he released two singles to Christian Country radio, 'What Do You Want Out of Life' peaking at #21 in January of 1999 & 'In My Next Life' peaking at #24. He considers himself a Positive Country & Christian Country artist with a very Bakersfield influenced Country sound. In April 2008 he and his band, 'Christian Country' performed two concerts with Marty Haggard, the eldest son of Country Music Hall of Fame icon, Merle Haggard with one of the shows being held in Roger's hometown of Chowchilla, CA. Roger grew up reading the liner notes on all the albums his parents would buy, never dreaming that someday he'd have some of those same people on his albums, such as Sonny Garrish, Hargus 'Pig' Robbins, Larry Paxton, just to name a few.
