Depending on the Glass
Watch out, here comes Rosebud Blue! Fresh. Exciting. Fun. Hot! Energetic. RBB is the new thing. Young and hungry, they're out for the kill. RBB is bulldozing their own trail into bluegrass music, and now that RBB is taking the world by storm, young kids that didn't know what bluegrass was yesterday think this music is the coolest thing going today - all because they heard Rosebud Blue. Oh, and it also turns out that, because RBB plays it true, those folks that "remember the old days" love Rosebud Blue's authentic single microphone performance style traditional bluegrass music just as well. The only thing is, unlike some of their counterparts who've found all those new notes, RBB keeps it real. They bring it old-school - we're talking hard core traditional grass here. They call it "chickgrass", which is all about singing from the heart with all the feeling and intensity you can bring. Just give a listen to their brand new debut recording "Depending on the Glass", the proof's in the puddin'! Turns out bandleaders Jenny Lynn Williams and Angela Personeni have been fantasizing about this for their whole lives. Yep, they grew up pretending they were a band (with tennis rackets and stuff!) while Jenny's grandpa and dad were constantly jamming with Angela's folks and lots of unusually talented friends (like Keith Little, Ed Neff, etc.). Heck, their cribs were practically packed in between Bill Monroe and Stanley Brothers LPs! And now, finally, that fantasy is really happening, with Rosebud Blue. Pretty cool, eh!? The RBB band members have performed at the premiere venues throughout the U.S. and Canada, including the CBA's Father's Day Festival in Grass Valley, Pickin' in the Pines, the IBMA World of Bluegrass in Nashville, and ROMP festival in Kentucky. Filling out the vocal trio and blasting some hard core mandolin riffs is Matt Dudman, a renowned musician and singer. BanjoBoy, lady killer and banjo picker extraordinaire, brings in the driving licks, having performed and recorded as a member of Lost Highway. And the West Coast's finest fiddlers, such Ed Neff or Paul Shelasky, round out the RBB band. So, whaddya gonna do? It's Rosebud Blue! Check 'em out.
