The music I have chosen for this CD represents a sampling of the rich repertoire flutists are lucky to have. Whether it is Debussy telling us the story of Syrinx and his pan pipes, or Milhaud taking us through lively and interesting juxtapositions for flute and piano, each composition evokes a world of it's own individual style, sonorities and sensibilities. I hope you enjoy the music and it leaves you with your own impressions. Ruth Kasckow Flutist Ruth Kasckow received her BA from Goucher College and MFA from California Institute of the Arts in flute performance. She freelances in the Los Angeles area with various chamber music groups and orchestras and maintains a teaching studio in La Canada, California. Pianist Christopher Brennan received his Master's degree from Yale and his DMA from USC in piano performance. He now maintains a private music studio in the Pasadena area where he teaches, performs and composes and serves on the faculties of Chapman University and Saddleback College.
