Ready for the Downpour
Ryan James didn't start his musical journey until his second year in college at the ripe old age of 20 when he bought his first guitar and started poorly strumming away. He would eventually become enamored with the piano and find some abilities as a songwriter. This launched him into full on music fanatic mode. Finally breaking free of generica pop radio he was able to explore his musical talents under the influences of songsters like Nick Drake, Elliot Smith, David Gray, Skip James, Billy Joel, Dave Matthews and legendary bands like the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin...though he wouldn't actually sound like any of them, being most closely compared to Elton John...to whom he never listened. His music tastes are now immeasurably broad, listening to anything and everything he hasn't heard before. It wasn't until he moved to Reno where he was introduced...in an oddly complex series of introductions...to his musical creator, Tom Gordon. Too Tall Tom helped Ryan reach his highest level of potential yet with the recording of Ready For the Downpour. Now we just sit, and wait...
