S4J Biography S4J, Singing for Jesus, had a spiritual birth in the spirit of Brenson York in February 2000. God sanctified Brenson for a higher calling to minister the message of His mercies through song. The revelation of the vision of S4J was clear in the heart, mind and spirit of Brenson but the manifestation of this vision remained in the process of purification. During the process when the vision of S4J was breathed into the spirit of Brenson, Psalm 89:1 became the foundation on which the vision now stands: I WILL sing of the mercies of the Lord for ever; with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations. Clearly stated in the scripture, S4J shall have no boundaries that will not be crossed and will go on endlessly. Answering His call, Brenson is noted not only as visionary of S4J, but also as founder, writer and vocalist. Initially appointed to assist in carrying out the vision of S4J, were three additional members, Glenn Berry, Curtis Washington and Carl Wells. Although spiritually led to go in different directions, the four continue to uplift God's name in song. The tenure of the original four as S4J was eleven months and did not fall short of the group performing at several different local Houston area church venues. Spiritually yoked up to form the now S4J group is Brenson York and Earl Brown. God has found favor with the two and has awesomely anointed them in the spirit to produce sweet melodies of Heaven and bless the name of Jesus. Brenson York and Earl Brown originate from Houston, Texas and both bring their talent as well as experience to S4J. Brenson has been singing since the age of five and was previously a contributing member of several Houston Area City Wide choirs. In his young age, Brenson found pleasure in entertaining his family members by singing. It was in this form of entertainment that his mother discovered a talent that could not be hid. Beginning in 1985, Earl Brown has been a member of several gospel choirs which includes University of North Texas' Gospel choir, and Dallas Mass Choir. Also included in Earl's talented background is member and soloist at St. Emmanuel Baptist Church of Denton, Texas from 1985 to 1988 and current member and soloist at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church of Houston, Texas. S4J parallels the flavor of new traditional gospel music to minister to the young, seasoned, saved as well as the unsaved. S4J steps are ordered by God and therefore minister wherever the Lord opens the door.
