Sal Marullo, a composer, arranger, producer and performer of over forty original compositions, also attended the Julliard School of Music. Subsequently, he gained invaluable experience at Mercury Records and Buddha Records as a studio musician. While there, Sal performed on over thirty master recordings, he also furthered his producing talents by co-producing fifteen master recordings. In 1976, Sal signed with 20th Century Fox as a producer, performer and songwriter. Soon he released his first 45 rpm record entitled 'Winter's Night.' Two years later, Sal established his own recording studio, Sunset Recording in Monterey, California. Sunset Recording has an impressive clientele over the past fifteen years. John Madden, Maury Povich, Murray Lender, Jackie Stewart, The Beach Boys', John Phillips and many others have trusted Sal's experience with their recordings. In fact, Sal performed as percussionist on the Beach Boys' CD entitled 'Summer in Paradise.' Sal has performed in many popular lounges and night clubs in Las Vegas including the Sahara Casino and Caesar's Palace. The soundtrack on video cassette entitled 'Video Birthday Card' featuring Leonard Maltin as narrator is one of Sal's original compositions. His first solo CD entitled 'Midnight In New York' contains ten more Marullo compositions. The title track 'Midnight In New York' (a rock-fusion groove) featuring Carl Verheyen (guitar extraordinaire) and Dave Marotta (bass) along with Dave Kempton (electric keyboards) and Nick Williams (alto sax) is a tribute to New York City and it's nightlife. Both Carl and Dave also appear on 'Always In All Ways' (bluesy guitar with passionate vocals), 'Never Give Up' (melodic/ counterpoint harmonies and percussive feel) with Terry Hanck (tenor sax) and Nick Williams (flute). Carl also is playing on 'Hollywood Dreamin' '(street harmonies/smooth groove) with Dennis Murphy (bass), Roger Eddy (tenor sax), Judy Washington (b.g. vocals) and Monique Washington (b.g. vocals). Robert Viales (lead guitarist) and Dennis Murphy (bass) appear on 'All I Want From You' (melodic harmonies), 'When The Mornin' Comes' (bluesy vocals), 'Jamaica Winds' (flowing groove) and 'Winter's Night' (smooth groove). Robert Viales (guitar), Dave Kempton (electric keyboards) and Terry Miller (bass) on 'This Must Be Love' (rock-fusion groove). Jeff Wasson (lead guitar), Dave Kempton (electric keyboards) and Judy Washington (b.g. vocals) appear on 'From The Heart' (rock feel/smooth vocals). Bonus drum solo by Sal on 'Passion Drums' a mellow side of Sal.
