Play It Again Sam
Sam was born in Los Angeles in 1939 and grew up listening to Errol Garner,Oscar Peterson and boogie woogie. He started playing piano himself at age 17 and has been self-taught ever since.....Jamming with local jazz and boogie woogie aficionados in and around L.A. till the wee hours of the mornings at juke joints, bowling alleys, bars, piano bars anyplace he could find a venue......Sam has spent decades and countless hours playing, practicing, writing and recording raw demos of his music on old reel to reel tape recorders in his one room boarding house just dreaming of the chance to do it right. Now he has finally released his first professionally recorded CD of Originals and jazzy standards to share with his contemporaries and those who just love music! A man very acquainted with grief's, sorrows and loneliness a man who has been stricken with Agoraphobia and a virtual prisoner in his own home town of Whittier, Ca since 1975. Unable to visit with family or loved ones not even his own father of 90 years who resides only 2 hrs away in San Diego....But a man who is so quick to share with others his gifts and talents, time and money or a quick joke if need be to others who might be down and out....Getting to know the streets and those that have been sentenced there.... to feel and experience the pain of everyday life on a totally different level. Come check out these very personal songs of ambitions and love lost of hope for a better day. Sam is also a devoted follower of the Holy Scriptures of God and Jesus Christ. Where he filters his whole life through the word of God. It's been a very spiritual and exciting walk as he follows God. 'To those who Fear God are given a crown of ecstasy and will be intoxicated by the fruits of wisdom.' Be strong and stay focused on the higher calling. Samuel T. Hall II.
