Hello fans of surf rock, instrumentals, guitaristic soundtrack and cinema sounds; As I sit here and write this the snow is falling here in Colorado as it is prone to do in the Winter. It's the perfect time for exiled relocated beach bums to crank up the surfin' tunes....those golden notes of massively reverbed guitars and pounding drums that fill our hearts with joy and recalling the beauty of the sun and sea and sand. Sandy and the SurfSonics began as a hodad tadpole heard his first guitar instrumental on the radio many red sunsets ago and his mind wandered to the sandy shore of oceanic glory........ feel that spray .......taste that salty bite of the ocean......a-hhhhhhhhh........ Then a few years later, the light bulb came on over his expanding consciousness containing orb and that hodad decided he wanted to play those guitars and make that joyous noise of watery crashing beauty and power. So it was done and Sandy learned to play and write melodies and found a few others who also dreamed of warm, sandy playgrounds when the chilling snow flakes of Winter fell. Finally one summers eve at a party an Angel heard Sandy playing 'Sueña California' all by himself and she said, '....you should record that!!' The Angel's name is Barb Sickler. Thank you Barb!! With that towering vote of confidence the endeavor was initiated............ Vintage Fender amps, clean, cool Jags and Starfires and Teles with Dano baritone guitar counterpoint and throbbing drums tying it all together produced the dreams of wave riding, sand-between-your-toes and golden, fiery sunsets; which we call 'Oceanica' (pronounced: oh-she-Ann-ick-ah). Sandy and the SurfSonics thank you for listening and bid you a fair 'Aloha' Comment from MySpace: Lovin' your page and sound - as fresh and as cool as a warm summer breeze! Have a great week! Kelv.
