Sans Visaj, the production team comprised of producer and songwriter Chester Owens and veteran producer Bill Thomas, is a potent production duo located in Denver Colorado. Having met while working on a CD project for a prominent Denver artist, mutual respect for each others' talent kept them working together long after the project was completed. In 2006, Chester started Raging Waters Records, but found it challenging to find and sign artists whose goals or career stations were compatible with those of the label. Out of these struggles, the idea for Sans Visaj was born. The EP Pearl is a collection of four songs hand-picked by Chester and Bill from Chester's existing catalogue and new compositions created expressly for the EP. Sans Visaj's Pearl is the debut release from Colorado's own Raging Waters Records. The artists featured on this project were invited by Chester and Bill to lend their talents to the performances of these songs. This EP can best be described as mature pop. Both the title song "Pearl" and "Pearl Remix," featuring Melinda Smart on lead vocals, are sexy, danceable songs which will entice any audience to "shake it" on the dance floor. In contrast, the first single "Ugly In Me," featuring vocalist Carnita Harris, is an introspective piece that addresses the darker insecurities of our being. The track following "Ugly In Me" entitled "Things Can Never Be the Same," sung by Alton Williams, is a classic Pop/R&B "break-up" track with a progressive sound. Pearl is a fun, mature, introspective EP that listeners will thoroughly enjoy.
