Scarlet Soho is a British electro pop duo with an atypical lineup: Musician Jim also provides the vocals for the project, while his female counterpart Scarlet runs the synths and the bass in the background. Since 2000, the two artists have been working together, growing into a successful live act, e.g. when supporting IAMX recently. In 2004, they snatched their first record deal in England and released their debut album "Divisions Of Decency". The new album is now called "Warpaint", and this might well be regarded as a warning: From England, SCARLET SOHO want to conquer the world. Accordingly, their music conveys everything but a feeling of reluctance or standstill. "Warpaint" features mostly lively uptempo songs with retro appeal, sometimes reminiscent of the very early Depeche Mode. As sources of inspiration for their rough electro pop with rock influences, they name contemporaries such as the Sneaker Pimps or Interpol, but also pioneers like Magazine. In 2009, SCARLET SOHO will play festivals together e.g. with Gary Numan and Talking Heads.
