Ready Fire Aim
Sean Brown's energetic and guitar heavy indie rock sound was born from a love of Dirty 70's guitar rock, punk rock, Elvis Costello, Neil Young and the modern Canadian indie rock music scene. Sean has now begun creating a sound of his own and is spreading the gospel with his debut album "ready fire aim" to be released November 10th 2007. Sean Brown has crafted a dynamic guitar style and a prophet's sensibility with lyrics that both expose and redeem. The album's lead track Only Human (which features Stephen Carroll of The Weakerthans) confesses "I'm only human. I have one heart that can never be mended and I leave my clothes on because I cannot show my true self." Sean Brown has emerged. Sean's return to Winnipeg, Canada in the Summer of 2005 brought him the good fortune of being approached by now band mates Steve Lagimodiere on Bass and Todd Sugit on Drums. Together, the trio's raunchy rock has been compared to the likes of King Cob Steelie and the Dead Milkmen and they continue to entice audiences and wow critics with forceful live performances. Sean's musical beginnings are rooted in the Winnipeg punk rock scene and his musical talents were honed while playing bass with Winnipeg indie rock legends Luke Doucet and Stephen Carroll. After years of rocking the bass, Sean found the lure of song writing to powerful so he picked up a guitar and began to write. Not long after, Sean met a certain singer-songwriter named Katie Murphy; it all began around a tree planting camp fire, sparks flew and the dream to make music for a living was born. From there Sean donned the gypsy robes and swayed from Montreal to Los Angeles rested for a time in Toronto, all the while honing his craft and gaining a loyal following. Sean's live performances are raw, honest and driven and his dynamic guitar styling's set a rhythmic back drop for his profound and exposing lyrics.
