Introducing... SHAMISO, and her debut album, "Continually", completed with producers from the UK and Zimbabwe. It has an international feel and demonstrates the versatility of gospel music in this ever changing contemporary culture. The song "Got to praise Him"(OADT version) has a distinctive UK funk feel to it, while the title track, "Continually" has the signature rhythm of African 'house' music, recently popularized in Southern Africa. Other songs to look out for are "Heartbeat", "All Yours now" and the ballad "As the Heavens". In a show of her songwriting ability, Shamiso has included on this album, two songs, 'Nowhere to Hide' and 'Through the Waters', sung by other artists. It was released in Zimbabwe in October 2006 and in the UK in February 2007. The combination of mid-tempo and chorus-like songs ensures a well rounded album that is sure to find a place in church worship and on many shelves both in Zimbabwe and abroad. Shamiso, aka Fadzisai Musa is a young vibrant singer/songwriter whose humble beginnings can be traced back to a small town called Gweru in Zimbabwe. At age 12, she began a personal relationship with God and committed to loving and living for Him. As one of the lead singers in Phileo, an acapella vocal band of 14 teens, she experimented with harmonies, and now sings soprano, alto and tenor, all represented on this album. Around age 17, having been singing with Phileo and in the church band, she found herself putting a tune to a poem by a friend of hers, thus stumbling upon her gift for writing songs. Thereafter, the songs were born out of devotional times with God, a desire to memorize scripture, and day to day challenges she faced as we all do as part of growth and maturing in Christ. Shamiso moved to Harare, the capital, at age 19, to study pharmacy, and continued writing songs and serving in the Worship team at her new church, River of Life. She was asked to join a well-loved acapella sextet called Cornerstone, whose performances were requested at weddings, university functions and a host of other venues. A prophecy over her life at that time confirmed that God wanted her to write songs, and thereby lead people to know Christ. It was this confirmation that kept her motivated when circumstances and potential disillusionment threatened to steal this promise. 2001 saw Shamiso heading out to the UK to pursue a career opportunity. She sought out musicians and producers to help her with her first project, while she sunk her teeth into serving on the Praise and Worship team at her local church, Aston Christian Centre (ACC) in Birmingham. This is where she's been based now as she has put together her first offering entitled "Continually".
