Product Notes

SHATTERED VIEW Bio Shattered View started out as a small dream of two small town boys wanting to do something to make God famous. The name emerged from the reflective thoughts and dreams of challenging the body of Christ to shatter their view of what "Christianity" was to them, and break through to the penetrating force of the Kingdom of God. Through their music shattered view wanted to communicate a message of unity, a mission of evangelism, and a focus of a great commission. After growing up in church all of their lives, the band committed to ceasing the mindless debates over carpet color, song selection, and podium etiquette in exchange for strategic plans to fulfill the prayers and commands of Jesus found in John 17 and Matthew 28. In addition, the band had a desire to shatter the non-Christians' view of what was a Christian. The stereotypical perception of the uptight, boring, tie-wearing, ignorant church going robot commonly keeps people from experiencing the wild love of Christ and all that He has to offer humanity, and the band decided that through their music this too must change. For Christianity has been focused too long on rules and propriety instead of relationships and meaning. This view must be shattered. The band has been pieced together through an eclectic array of styles and backgrounds in regards to the individual band members. Shane (Acoustic Guitar, Lead Vocals, BGV) and Sara Wood (Vocals; who are now married and proud parents of Zion and Paige in Wright City, MO) are two of the three original "founding" members of the band. The next two members, heralding from Wentzville, MO, to be discovered were Jordan Wood (Drums) and Alex Nielsen (Lead Electric Guitar, BGV). Picking up instruments for the first time their freshman year of high school, boredom with the mundane drove these two to Christ and music. In combining these two loves, the friends began to play with Shattered View consistently in 2001. Both of them drastically being influenced by Creed have given Shattered View the electric edge that makes them unique. Shortly, thereafter, Ted Bollinger (Bass) felt the call of God to the band adding a "music theory" flair to the band that allows for brilliant bass riffs and perfect low pillow to shape the music. The final two members of the band were classmates and ministry partners with Shane and Sara at Ozark Christian College in Joplin, MO. Caleb Paxton (Lead Vocals, Acoustic Guitar, Mandolin, Keys, BGV), who is strongly influenced by Derrick Webb and Caedmon's Call, comes from the small town of St. Joe, MO. Caleb used his music to worship and connect to his Savior in a casual and yet brilliant manner. The lyrical ability and musical ease was a perfect fit to the already emerging plan of God through Shattered View, but one piece was still missing and it was found in the punk rock influenced Brock Weber (Electric Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, BGV, Turn-Tables). Originating from North Platte, NE Brock brought the flare and experience that would help cement the band's developing style. Brock adds an extra element of uniqueness to the already diverse group of God's servants. All in all, Shattered View was assembled by God for one purpose...to make Him famous.
