All on the Altar
Meet SHAUNDOLLYN. Her sound is not one you would likely find on today's gospel radio stations. Her voice is too smooth to be a traditional gospel singer. Yet, her message is too godly to be a traditional jazz singer. Without a doubt, Shaundollyn offers a unique, personal sound to gospel music. As a composer/arranger, her songs blend elements of straight-ahead jazz and rhythm and blues with traditional gospel. Many are touched by her mellifluous voice and God-inspired lyrics and melodies. Shaundollyn has sang everywhere from United States to England to India. She has been a guest on several radio stations, including the University of North Texas jazz radio station, KNTU; Heaven 97, where she was the featured artist on the Homegrown Gospel Hour, Poetry and Praise Productions Radio Hour in Columbus, Ohio, and BBC Northampton in Wellingborough, England. Her songs have aired on radio stations in Texas, Alabama, New York, and in England. Music has always been a part of Shaundollyn's life. Her father, Enos King, was a well-known jazz saxophonist and band director in Louisiana. She began playing flute at age 7 and piano at age 10. She grew up listening to all kinds of music - gospel, pop, R&B, and classical. You will hear musical elements of all this in her compositions. The project, All on the Altar, is the first work representing God's call on Shaundollyn's life to bless people through music. Check it out!!!
