Stuck in Your Head
(Duplicated CD, Extended Play)
Formed in January of 2008, Sinner's Swing has set goals of constantly writing songs and playing shows of any variety. The writing process is natural and each member brings their own flavor and background to the mix, resulting in a sound that spans various genres and decades. They have just recorded a brand new eight track EP titled "Stuck in Your Head" at Cathouse Studios in Sioux Falls. From the land of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the gentlemen of Sinner's Swing come with a mission: a live show isn't a proper live show if the audience isn't dancing, clapping, and singing along. Our name Sinner's Swing is a satirical throwback to the controversial nature of Rock and Roll. The idea that listening to artists like Elvis and Jimi Hendrix would entice listeners into dancing with the devil; doing the sinners' swing if you will. Sinner's Swing takes their music seriously, but keeps a firm tongue-in-cheek for everything else. Our music with guitar riffs reminiscent of 80s metal, bass lines right out of a 90s alternative-funk rock band, and drums and showmanship from the 70s and 80s arena rock, Sinner's Swing creates an eclectic brand of music that reminds you of the bands growing up that you and your group of friends could actually all agree on liking. With a steady fan base, local radio play, and numerous shows under their belt, Sinner's Swing is hoping that their latest album 'Gets Stuck in Your Head.' The band is composed of Chris Kappen, lead Guitarist/backing vocalist (18), Joshua Barse, bassist/backing vocalist (21), William Baker, drummer (16), and Nick Kappen, lead vocalist/rhythm guitarist (14). It is very hard to define our sound, we have a wide variety of classic rock and modern rock influences that range from The Beatles to Velvet Revolver, we sometimes refer to our sound as alternative dance rock. We fit into many categories of music with our originals because we want to have something everyone can appreciate. Some people tell us that we sound like the entire rock section at a record store plus a sprig of blues and punk. We are all very experienced at what we do and our popularity is growing by the day.
