Sleeping with a Stranger
Sister of Kings was formed by members of a working, rock-covers band based in the North-East of England. We had begun experimenting with original material in the set but we couldn\'t all agree on the musical direction and this prevented any real progress. In the end, three of us decided to write and record separately and the \'Sleeping With A Stranger\' album is the first tangible result of our work. It was recorded, mixed and engineered on a 16-track portastudio in a spare bedroom at the home of the band\'s guitarist between January and May 2008 and is a distillation of ideas and songs compiled over the years. With a female vocalist who has a love of blues singers, a drummer who cut his teeth playing heavy/speed metal and a guitar player who leans toward classic progressive rock the result is almost inevitably difficult to put into a single catagory. The songs are varied but, we think, contain a distinctive sound that is Sister of Kings. The moods and sentiments vary and we hope that somewhere there is something that strikes a chord with most people. Thanks for your interest and we hope you enjoy what you hear. If you do, then please, don\'t hesitate to tell your friends.
