Bang to the Boogie EP
After winning 'The Grand Prize of the Netherlands' (First Prize and Audience Award), the MC / Producer Skiggy Rapz has acquired a respectable live reputation with shows at venues such as Paradiso, Melkweg, Tivoli, Parkpop, and Mystery Land. He was the opening act for well known acts like Extince, KRS-One, and Kanye West. Also, the rapper appeared on the TV program Raymann is Late. In 2009, Skiggy travelled with Arts the Beatdoctor to Austin, Texas, to perform at the world famous SXSW Music Festival. His debut album Boat Drinks was released in 2004 under his own management. The album was picked up by the Japanese label P-Vine Records, who decided to release the CD in Japan. Afterwards, many records with contributions by the rapper appeared all over the world. Skiggy's most recent work is the album Record. It's the result of his cooperation with MC / Producer Master Surreal, called Keynote Speakerz. It was distributed throughout Europe and in Japan. From this album, three videos were shot. Besides all this, Skiggy produced the vast majority of tracks on the CDs "Verhalen vanuit de sofa" ("Stories from the sofa") and "Mayonaise voor de Ziel" ("Mayonnaise for the Soul") by rapper Diggy Dex. From the latter album, a video was shot of the track '1, 2, 3, 4', where Skiggy makes an appearance next to Dex. This clip was broadcast on the music channel TMF. Skiggy is currently working hard on his second solo album Bang to the Boogie, which will include collaborations with artists such as I-Repeat (singer of Beef) and the former band Leaf. In May 2009, the predecessor of this album, called Bang to the Boogie EP, will be released by the American label Beats Broke.
