Dreams Leave Me Be
Smokewrench's 'Dreams, Leave Me Be' attempts to define and quantify through it's classic-rock style music, a portion of the vibe and feelings we all keep to ourselves and sometimes have a little trouble pinning down. Raw, basic and unpretentious, are terms that describe both the album and the Band from which the album originated. Rising from the isolation of the flat farmland of east central Illinois, Smokewrench was formed in the fall of 2001 from the fragments of other bands. Guitarist/Songwriter/Vocalist Roy Crane has attempted to set to music some of the moods, fears and aspirations that reside below the surface in many of us. Bassist/Vocalist B. E. Martin lends his powerful voice to the lyrics and his bassist' skills provide the foundation. Drummer Rich 'Snake' Spraker gets the job done on the skins. On Tracks #1 and #4 keyboardist Jack Crane gives to the song a soft regimentation that only a piano can provide.
