Sobe is a recently formed Estonian group which desires to offer the audience music that would unite youthful energy and ingenuity with mature vision and realized sensitivity. Thus it combines a young individual female vocalist and well-known experienced leaders and song writers. Though Sobe has a relatively short history, it's first recording, the title track for their debut album, 'Love Pioneers', became quickly one of the most played songs in leading Estonian radio stations and gained significant attention. In lyric images and creative patterns, Sobe tries to take a little step off the main trends and currents, and point to an alternative approach. They are trying to pioneer, as indicated in the title of their first album, though not in a revolutionary, but rather in their own humble way. Sobe shows a world of a disillusioned and sophisticated, but simultaneously simple and joyful artists and people, and it's music is 'life music', a part of their being. Thus it aims at a positive and uplifting experience for a listener. The band's vocalist, Liiiz, has been said to have the role of Suzanne Vega or Tanita Tikaram in the 21st century. She is a self-conscious beauty who gently and intelligently revolts against the conventional systems and refuses to abuse her personality in the name of some external gain. Though she has been rather unknown before the birth of Sobe, she proves to be one of the most potential and original female vocalists in her country, with a tender and sensitive, but powerful soul.
