Soulful Praise Biography Soulful Praise consists of three individuals on fire for God, Tara Conrad of Huntersville, NC, La'Shana Wiggs of Charlotte, NC and Levell Hedgspeth of Charlotte, NC. The group started when Alexander Wiggs brought Tara (a member of his former church young adult choir) and La'Shana (his new bride) together to experiment with a new style of music and vocal arrangement. The blend they created was incredible, but Alexander knew there was an ingredient still missing. After years of developing and looking of a third vocal to complete the sound he was looking for, Levell who had worked with Alexander for years developing other artists and on a solo project, joined the group adding his unique, soulful voice to the already powerful duo. This blend created a sound that can only be categorized as anointed. The sound of Soulful Praise is a contemporary gospel sound with an R&B/Neo-Soul feel. After listening to the songs God had birthed within them the group decided on the name Soulful Praise. When thinking of the trials and situations God delivered them from, they wanted to give God praise from the very depths of their souls. And from their praise it is their prayer that the songs resonate in your soul. Tara is a member of Bethesda A.M.E. Zion Church in Mooresville, NC. Tara is actively involved in various ministries including the God's Promise Puppet Ministry. Tara has been singing since her youth and has been using her God-given talents in directing youth and young adult choirs over the years. La'Shana is a member of University Park Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC. She has been singing since her youth and God continues to use her talents through the creation of lyrical compositions. She is a living testimony of each composition she proclaims. Levell currently serves as senior pastor of New Restoration Tabernacle Church located in Charlotte, NC. Not only does his congregation receive the unadulterated Word of God but they get the added bonus of hearing the powerful and anointed singing voice of Pastor Hedgspeth. Through initial word of mouth, the trio initially began performing locally in the Charlotte and surrounding areas on programs and events. The response was incredible, while the youth responded overwhelmingly there was foot-tapping and hand-clapping praise throughout the sanctuaries with young and old alike. We understand that the hip beat catches you but the Spirit keeps you. It was through these first performances that God provided confirmation that this was Soulful Praise's' purpose; to reach all generations, the saved and unsaved and proclaim that you must praise in the midst of your storm.
