South breed Family In an abstract atmosphere of nothingness, it begins to reign. Clouds of thoughts and instinct conceive prose and rhythm. These love children manifest themselves deep down in the core if Everblack Dixie. From it's depths, a new existence evolves and Southbreed Family is born. The Southbreed Family is comprised of four strands of musical DNA-'Atteze', 'Lowest Terms', 'Underground Poetz', and 'Redd', each with a genetic powerhouse that contributes to the rapid growing heritage of rap music today. Symphonic mitosis begins with Carlos 'Los' Matkins, Cornealous 'Neal' Tyler and Chris '5 Grand' Petway, began the Underground Poetz in 1991 while attending J.O.Johnson High School in NW Huntsville. The chemistry was not destined to stop there for the Underground Poetz creatively began working with another group in the same school Known as Atteze. Atteze is comprised of members, Mike 'Villano' Fanning, Fred 'Rick Trife' Horton, Hadji 'Hadj 1' Smith, and Jeff 'D&L' Matthews. These groups quickly became more than just a whisper in society of peers who yearned for the rhythms of rhyme with reason. Without any hesitation, Underground Poetz and Atteze delivered their musical fusion doing talent shows, school parties, local entertainment events, and festivals. In 1998, still another piece was added to the puzzle. After years of bad deals, pipe dreams, and perfecting the art of public relations and performing arts, new members were drawn to the flow of this menagerie of artist. Mareon 'Gee' McCrary introduced his family Lowest Terms to the scene. Lowest Terms are comprised of Mareon himself and Theo 'B-one' Burruss. A young man by the name of Anthony 'Scrill Gates' Mastin was later added. Last but not least, the final jewel to this treasure chest was added. In 1999 a poetic princess by the name of Jean 'Redd' Walker reigning from St. Louis, MO, was introduced and openly accepted into the group. Now all the ingredients were uniquely blended and spices. And thus the Southbreed Family was born. In the midst of recording 'Southern Reign' at Blackfist Studios,Ala and Soundworks Recording,Ala, seventeen flames of prose were burned off tracks produced by Southbreed's very own Mike Fanning and Hadji Smith for Dramatized Production, Cleveland's very own Mike Smoov and Derek Simmons for Rookie International. 'Southern Reign' is destined to draw attention from the masses focusing on issues and facets that represent every element of mankind from all races twisted in the whirlwinds blowing on some good old fashion Bama flavor. Finally, slamming like an 808 in your conscience, Southbreed brings the noise in harmonic tones and lyrical overloads in their sophomore project, 'Southern Reign'. Emotion and philosophy and realistically entwined in such a way that calliope of a storm takes the audience past the natural conception of what really is. As for what is to come, track 3, 'Bamalon' brings to life the utopia of rap revelation. Drops of science continue to shower from clouded tracks as 'Hustleville' sets the laid back scenario of what it is like to strive as if it's an inborn instinct with a purpose. But through it all, track 12, 'Pain' created the crack that breaks the 'Southern Reign' seal. For the heartfelt lyrics laced over a mellow beat leaves listeners no choice but to wake up to the fact that no matter what you do, everybody must go through to get to. So as the 'reign' falls silently, flowingly and rhythmically, Southbreed passes the elements one by one, beat by beat, one thought at a time.
