THE BAND This band has been turning a lot of heads lately. You can see their video of "Rollercoaster" on Nickelodeon, hear their songs in rotation at Movie Tunes, hear "Rollercoaster" in the indie film "The Last Adam", their single "Destiny" topped the national chart at Broadjam, and "Gimme" has become the summer anthem blasting from car stereos all over Atlanta. In their debut album Sparechange creates an energetic blend of pop, rock, funk, and soul music. Combining the groove of Maroon 5, the energy of No Doubt, and the vocal melodies of Kelly Clarkson, this group of young, intelligent musicians creates a sound that bridges all ages and cultures. Hearing any one track of this album, it would be easy to place this group in a specific genre, but the tracks range from high energy rock, to slow ballads, to funk rock, and even to upbeat dance songs. Between the complex vocal harmonies, ripping guitar, and solid drum and bass grooves, Sparechange will blow you away with the style, musicianship, and heart they put into their music. Once you hear it, you'll know why they're called a blast of fresh air. THE ALBUM The new CD, "NO more" has ten songs that describe hope, frustration, great boyfriends, jerks, and just having a good time on the dance floor. "Gimme" is a powerful I'M OVER YOU song, telling dishonest people to take their best shot, but that it's pointless because they're only hurting themselves. It combines hard rock and pop melodies with funk and a hip hop inspired verse. "Destiny" is a soulful acoustic song from the heart that's easy to relate to. It's about knowing that you have a purpose in life and that you will find your own path. "Movin' Sidewalks" talks about the frustration of the roadblocks found in life, when all you desire is to live a life full of passion. It's the anthem song of the band with a powerful vocal melody on top of driving rock. "No More" is a song a about a girl who's had it with her boyfriend. He lies, cheats, and does her wrong. Musically, this track is bursting with the energy that Sparechange fans see at a live show.
