Spider the Cat is brothers Jonathan ('Juan'), 12 string and electric guitars & Paul Epstein, piano/synths, Jamie Reginek, lead vocals, Chris Henderson, bass & Miikka Eerola, drums. Jonathan and Paul have been writing and arranging songs since they were kids. STC began in the mid/late 90s, the band named after the Eppy's long deceased cat. STC made some demo tapes with Tony Whipple and received some radio air play in the Detroit area in '98 and '99. STC signed with SVR Records, famous for 60's Nuggets bands Tidal Waves and Unrelated Segments. In '01, their self-titled CD was released to the college panel and is available on CD Baby, Itunes, Amazon, etc. STC completed a 2nd CD in '03 when SVR shelved the project. Wating for SVR, Juan formed the Halos (see myspace page) which morphed into The Beggars. In '06, Juan and Paul recruited Miikka and Chris to self-produce and record a new CD with Joe P. at Online Bands Studio, Bloomfield, Michigan. The final piece of the puzzle was added in '08 when Jamie took over lead vocals. The result is 'Studio 1' completed in early '09. This 4 song EP includes the Bowie/Suedish Glamour Machine, the punky Belladonna, the Buzzcock-pop rocker Idolatry and the Echo and Bunnymenish Fateful Decisions. Currently, the group is recording 4 more songs for 'Studio 2' to be released this Spring '09. Thanks, Juan.
