Spirit Rises/ The Songs of Sue Stater
While we tinker, many irreplaceable glories of Nature are slipping away: the tiger, the elephant, the grizzly bear. In fact experts predict we're likely to lost up to one-third of all species in our lifetime! My passion for Nature began as a child when I learned to ride the waves on the beach at Santa Monica (today I windsurf on Peconic Bay),camped out with my family in national parks such as Yellowstone and Yosemite, where I met bears, swung in the tops of trees... Then seeing how we abuse Nature - the very foundations of life! - I wrote a lovesong to a whale (My Belugah Whale) & put together a show, 'Songs & Stories for the Earth & the Animals' (5-time ASCAP award winner), which I've been taking around to such places as Peoples Voice Cafe, the Knitting Factory, New England Folk Festival,bookstores,libraries... The show has culminated in an 18-song CD 'The Spirit Rises/the Songs of Sue Stater,' which addresses the current desperate plight of the earth & her cargo, the awesome healing powers of Nature... The songs being folk stress the story & are put together with passion, wit,& a music that people say lifts them up! The CD is available here or by credit or debit card at 1-800-289-6923 (Pacific Coast Time). Sue Stater 631-722-4559 or 212-255-6221 . . . BIG QUESTION: Did you know that the Earth is in the throes of the greatest extinction since the extinction of the dinosaurs? And once such noble forms as the tiger, the elephant, the grizzly bear are lost, they're lost forever? Can you imagine a world without them? Please pass this on. . . .
