Spiritful Voices is a 50-voice adult mixed choir organized exclusively for charitable, literary, and educational purposes. The choir is an independent, not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) exempt performing arts charity formed to serve our community by promoting the talents of non-auditioned, volunteer adult singers and instrumentalists of varied ages and diverse backgrounds who share a love of music. The group is not affiliated with any church or religious organization. Singers in the chorus are all residents of the community and none are professional musicians. A few of the choir's participants are students, homemakers, or retirees, but most have 'day jobs' including teachers, carpenters, pharmacists, professors, computer specialists, secretaries, nurses, bookkeepers, counselors, newspaper editors, and a variety of other occupations. Once each week during the group's performance seasons, these singers come together to rehearse choral music in preparation for performances in their community. In addition to performances at The Oklahoma City Festival of the Arts, the Paseo Arts Festival, the Crystal Bridge Tropical Conservatory at the Myriad Gardens, the Mayor's Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, the Braum's Ice Skating Rink, and other public venues in Oklahoma, Spiritful Voices Community Choir has provided free entertainment for residents at dozens of retirement centers and nursing homes including Alterra Sterling House, Brighton Gardens Retirement Center, Epworth Villa Retirement Community, The Fountains at Canterbury, Jefferson's Garden, Manchester House, The Mansion at Waterford, Quail Ridge Senior Living Center, The Statesman Club at the Vineyard, Southern Plaza Retirement Center, Tealridge Manor, and The Wellington. Proceeds from the sale of this compact disc album will provide support to continue Spiritful Voices Community Choir's ability to present free, live choral concerts in a variety of venues, including medical facilities and retirement centers throughout their community.
