Fire in the Sky
An album of clean, cruisin' electric blues; classic style, original songs. St Elmo: I've been playing in bands since the late 60's, my formative years being during the Blues revival happening at that time. I went on to psychedelic rock, fusion, new wave and back to the Blues. Always there was an undercurrent of blues; I always felt it was a foundation stone of much of the popular music that succeeded it (and still is) In my early days I was inspired by artists such as Sonny Boy Williamson (II), Elmore James, Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf, Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Bluesbreakers, BB King, Rolling Stones, Yardbirds. I have toured all over this wide, brown land (Australia) and have played to audiences from 10 people to 50,000. I am primarily a guitarist but over the years have learnt to play various instruments. Since I didn't have a band at the time, I played guitars, acoustic bass, keyboards, drums and theremin on this album. I also make my own tube guitar amplifiers and recently an analogue synthesizer. This album was recorded on analogue tape, and professionly mastered & duplicated. Happy listening, St ELMO (Jon Pike) St Elmo 'Fire In The Sky'
