Stacey Davidson did not grow up going to church on a regular basis, and at times didn't think she needed God in her life. Still, she grew up with emptiness inside for something (or, Someone) ....it was an emptiness that remained until July 1988. Stacey became a born again Christian, alone, in the privacy of her apartment, with only the Holy Spirit to draw her to the presence of Jesus Christ. She then began a long road of recovery from the impact of worldliness in her life. Several years later, Stacey asked God for a gift - something she could call her very own. Hearing His daughter's request, God opened the door of heaven's music, and she wrote the words of her first song that same day, and sang the melody into a hand-held recorder, which she carries to this day. She never learned to play skillfully on a musical instrument, and never learned to read or write music. Yet, more than a decade later, and a multitude of songs later, Stacey is still writing and singing only what she hears the Father speaking to her. 'The Narrow Gate' is a compilation of songs about her road to recovery from the ways of the world. Stacey's heart is to minister the healing power of Jesus Christ through her songs, and to encourage and exhort the Body of Christ through prophetic insight. Stacey understands that when she ministers to others, it requires her to expose old scars, and even her own weaknesses at times. 'I believe everyone, especially women can relate to where I am in each song. Some are about emotional healing ('Road of Recovery'), some songs are about how I have failed God ('Lord of My Life'), and some songs are about my intimate relationship with Jesus ('No One'). My songs are not only for the believer, but also for the lost to realize there is hope in any situation they are facing. Stacey hopes to encourage people to walk the less-traveled road, to cultivate a more intimate relationship with Jesus Christ, and to dream beyond their dreams with God as their Head.
