Echoes of Time
'Echoes of Time' is Stephen Teter's first solo CD release, a psychedelic musical experience you shouldn't miss! From the sweet, Hendrix-like strains of 'Together Tonight' to the authentic Beatles sound in 'Rupert' and on to the hard-driving rock of songs such as 'The Raven' and 'Terrorist Action,' no one has recorded an album like this in years. Every song paints a picture, every lyric another story. All together, this may well be one of the most revolutionary releases since the likes of such classics as 'Dark Side of the Moon,' 'Electric Ladyland' and 'Abbey Road.' Truly, a remarkable CD every serious music fan should own. Stephen's guitar style has it's roots in the psychedelic 60's. Influenced by Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana and Jeff Beck, he deftly glides from Claptonesque riffs reminiscent of 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps' to soaring, gravity defying, blazing rock seemingly without effort. A classically trained pianist, Stephen began playing violin in elementary school in his childhood stomping grounds, Portland, Oregon. When his family moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in California, he adopted an acoustic guitar his father gave his mother that Christmas. Although a first-chair violinist in his High School in Cupertino (home of Apple Computers), his love for the guitar continued to grow. The most familiar rig of his, at that time, was a Gibson ES175 hollow-body electric guitar plugged into a Fender Vibra-Sonic amp. Usually, it had a distortion and wah-wah pedal attached. Songwriting became a passion of Stephen's. Begging with folk rock, he has a catalog of works that numbers into the thousands. Winner of awards in songwriting competitions, his talent is more than evident throughout 'Echoes of Time.' Clearly, there is so much more to come. Combining sequencing and studio engineering skills with a producer's sense, Stephen has artfully blended an album with astounding musical texture. Harnessing the multi-timbral Procussion drum synthesizer with the dulcet tones of Turtle Beach Montego and Creative Live! 128 and AWE-32 sound cards, he brushes a tapestry of tone upon which to lay his Fender fretless bass and Stratocaster riffs. The truly remarkable result is a collection of songs that 'grow on you' the more you hear them. Join him in a 21st century 'Mystery Trip' of musical psychedelia. Bathe your senses in 'echoes of Time.' You may never perceive the Universe quite the same again.
