Formed in 1992 in Fullerton, California by guitarist Dave Rhine (whose past bands include the Dead End Kids, Guts on the Floor) and vocalist Terri Kennedy (also known for her work with Dichroic Mirror and as a backing vocalist on Faith and the Muse\'s first U.S. tour), Stone 588\'s brooding, intense, tribal sound has it's roots in the early \'80\'s post-punk era of Killing Joke and Siouxsie and the Banshees, traversing a dimly lit path of rhythmic darkness. Comprised of ferocious rhythms and sinuous, liquid guitars awash with rippling, cavernous sounds emanating from beneath a murky depth, Stone 588\'s songs explore nocturnal emotions with vocals ranging from sensually captivating to fiercely chilling. Stone 588 draws their name from the legend of a Druid\'s Altar in County Cork, Southern Ireland. Under the stone circle, the cremated body of an infant, a human sacrifice, was found concealed in a large urn, whose burial dates back to c588 B.C. Stone 588 has three CD self-releases \'Door in the Dragon\'s Throat\' (1995) and \'Midnight Claret,\' (2000) plus three previous cassette-only releases (1993, 1995) now available as the \'Eden\'s Eyes\' CD (2007). They have also appeared on cable television, over 21 CD compilations worldwide on Cleopatra, Cargo, Palace of Worms, Projekt, Equinoxe and other labels, and in the independant vampire-themed film, \'Circle of Five.\' Stone 588 has performed live in support of Shadow Project, Rozz Williams, Human Drama, Eva O., The Last Dance, This Ascension, Dave Vanian, and others.
