Back in the dim and distant 80's, Bern (guitars and vocals), and Bob (bass),played in a succession of bands in and around the north of London. From the Tolkienesque influenced Ringbearer, to the 'up and at them' Running Dogs. The 'Dogs eventually released a 3 track EP single entitled Born Yesterday, a moderate success, if not a spectacular seller. Things finally ran their course when Bern drove Bob to Weymouth ferry terminal, to catch a boat to France. He didn't make the return trip back to England for 16 years. During this spell, Bern, (still on guitars and vocals), played with a number of bands, including The Party Line, The Final Fling and The Pinky Wafers, who all enjoyed a considerable following. Eventually returning from Europe, Bern and Bob got back together again. Enlisting the help of Mick Cox,(ex Jailbreaker and The Sun Kings), on bass and production duties, they started recording the CD album, which was to become 'Waiting'. The CD is certainly diverse. From the opening track, Be With You, a real stomper, through to the final track, the album continually twists and turns in various musical directions. Also featuring the chillingly lyrically astute Forever Mine, a song about John Lennon, as seen through the eyes of his killer. Disappointment, a song about how we can never fulfil our parents idylls, the haunting The Other Side, about how when someone dies suddenly, you realise just how much you still had to say to them. The title track 'Waiting' is a beautiful song about sometimes having to let go of the people that you love the most. (house of) The Long Shadows is a very dark piece about what goes on inside our minds, while At Your Feet counterbalances that. It's a simple song of hope for the future. The CD, which has 12 tracks, is all self-penned, with Bern being the main contributor. We really hope that you like it. Many thanks for taking the time to look at our 'page'.
