Garfield "Stryke" Williams was born in Troja,Jamaica. At the age of seven Stryke moved to Canada. While visiting his cousin, he was introduced to an MC from the United States named "Sam 2 Much". Stryke was fascinated by Sam's wordplay and automatically started writing his own lyrics. Stryke fell in love with the musical art. He quickly formed a group called the Moodswingers and started entering talent shows. They won a few talent shows and also won the hearts of the people who attended the performances. After a few years the group departed, each member going their separate ways. Stryke - determined as he is - wanted more so he enrolled into a music school (Trebass Institute) to learn the business and technical aspects of the industry. It was there that he met his friend and producer, Adrian "3fingers" Gariba. The two immediately connected and started writing music together, creating a sound all of their own. They decided to move to New York City to pursue their dreams. While living in New York Stryke released an independent single which went number one in Toronto on the powermove show 88.1fm and the CD was also in (HMV) retail stores. The year is 2006 and Stryke is ready to take it to the next level. He has recorded his whole album in major recording studios, including Quad recordings, Sound on Sound studios, Metalworks and mastered his tracks at Sterling Sound. The songs have been mixed by some of the best in the industry. The same engineers the majors use had their fingers and ears on Stryke's project. Go hard or go home, with quality product and quality sounds this young man is thinking global. The first single off Stryke's album is exactly what he's been doing: "On the Grind". Made for the streets with commercial appeal, the stage is set and the difference revealed. Crystal clear like an engineers ear mysterious deliveries with sure fire hits is bound to attract those who hunger for something new and electrifying ........STRYKE.
