Tom received his first harmonica, a "64", at the age of 15, in San Francisco as a Christmas gift. It was then he engaged former "Rascal" Ray Tankersley as his teacher. Tom played lead with the "Harmonica Express" and with the "Johnny Puleo Harmonica Gang.". Tom then went on to perform around the world on his own and also performing with the Harmonica Aces (Danny Wilson & Michael Burton) on Holland America Cruises to South America. He continues to perform as a soloist in Asia including China. Tom also performs at Jazz Festivals along with Jazz Bands and Symphonies in the U.S. Tom recently recorded a CD Album, "East-- West Collaboration" with the great Tony Luisi, boy jazz arranger for the unequaled Stagg McMann Trio. Tom says, "don't miss this one! Tony's arrangements and playing are unbelievable." A strong supporter of the harmonica movement, Tom joined SPAH about 1980. Now he is the President of SPAH, 'The Society For The Preservation And Advancement Of The Harmonica.'
