Stuk is: Jason (J-Jay) Gil - Vocals, Attitude Erik (Mr. Mad) Jimenez - Bass, Backing Vocals Sal (Worm) Vela - Drums, Percussion Joey (Jo Jo) Marrufo - Guitars Trippy guitars, tribal trums, sonic boom basslines, mixed with the lyrical flow of the barrio underground make up the sound and style of the metal band Stuk. Though they have their own style they are often compared to Korn, Slipknot, P.O.D., and the Deftones. Their live show is energetic, gritty, and in-your-face and will make you want to move, dance, & slam. The band formed in Seguin, TX, outside of San Antonio, the latter part of 2000. After a couple of lineup changes and the untimely death of member Mark Medina (guitars) the band has forged on to become a force in the Texas metal scene. Through a performance at the Captive Audience Showcase during the South by Southwest Music Festival in Austin, TX, Stuk caught the attention of industry representatives. The band now shares the same legal representation with platinum selling metal artists System of a Down as well as catching the attention of ESPN producers. Look for Stuk to be featured in a segment of ESPN/EXPN's extreme sports program as well as having their music placed in extreme sports videos. Stuk have recently released their debut EP 'Minority' (Captiva Records) which is available nationally. They will be on an aggressive touring schedule throughout Texas and selected states to promote their EP this summer. The band is also busy writing new material for upcoming releases. Keep checking back for more updates.
