The band truly came to an unexpected commencement when front man Jason 'Chile' Serrano (vocals) teamed up with guitarist Stevie Simpson during the fall of 2000. The southern California based Sudden Onset then created the bitterly angry, yet catchy tune, "Ruin Me!" as the first song in their ever-increasing repertoire. Even before a full collaboration of musical components could materialize, the bands future almost wasn't. With the absence of a drummer, and a long-standing confliction of schedules among the trio, the then would be S-O found one another discouraged and nearly defunct. Renewal arrived when long time friend and experienced drummer Aaron Price approached Chile to rejuvenate the band suddenly and unexpectedly; Hence the name Sudden Onset. With such a positive response from audiences at performances, Sudden Onset was compelled to meet the demand for copies of their original works from a growing following. Sudden Onset took to the studio with producer DJ Aero to record a mixed compilation of their music. September of 2002 yielded the bands first independent release. Recording six of their songs, Sudden Onset has set out to achieve widespread promotion and distribution of their self titled CD. The band is also planning to record more of their pieces in the near future.
