Swingset Hands is an aggressive rock and roll band out of Buffalo, New York who are driven by the passion and sincerity which is so often absent from corporate rock radio. Also, in contrast to many independent punk bands of the day, their subject matter strays from the typical teenage love story. Instead Swingset Hands writes songs on a myriad of topics from life, love, friendship, politics and spirituality. No matter what the topic of a song may be, however, one constant paradigm evident in all their music is the enrichment of ones quality of life; To influence people to continuously strive for what they deserve and never settling for less. Musically, Swingset Hands is influenced by a wide array of artists, spanning all genres and time periods. Some of the more prominent influences, ranging from the legendary to the obscure, include the Beatles, R.E.M., Lifetime, the Clash, Descendents, Elvis Presley, Bruce Springsteen and Television. By calling on such a diverse selection of influences Swingset Hands tries to create their own original style of rock and roll so they can stand out as much as possible in a growing scene of copy cat musicians. Each member of Swingset Hands finds music to be the most powerful aspect in their life and therefore pours every ounce of energy into creating and performing their own music as original and as passionate as they can. They are constantly hard at work trying to improve themselves and the music they play.
