Taking Chances is a new high-energy modern Rock band performing a versatile assortment of original music spanning from; upbeat alternative pop/punk rock, to catchy melodic rock ballads. The band emerged on the Jersey Shore music scene in 2006 and has been playing shows in the New York and New Jersey area. Taking Chances is made up of 4 seasoned musicians that have a passion for composing and creating original music. The group consists of Singer /Guitarist- Gerard Canonico and three brothers: Bassist-Nick Salerno, Guitarist - Chris Salerno and Drummer- Joe Salerno. Each band member has strong musical roots. Gerard began his acting and singing career at the age of 10. Since then, he has stared in several Broadway and Off-Broadway shows including "Les Miserables" and "The Prince and the Pauper". Gerard is currently appearing in Broadway's Tony Award-Winning show "SPRING AWAKENING. He can also be heard on original cast albums for each of these Broadway plays. Joe, Nick and Chris Salerno are all Music Majors / teachers. The band spawned from several Jersey Shore bands including: Group Theropy, Save Tonight, and Greater Good. Taking Chances recently completed their debut 10-song LP entitled "Taking Chances"- a compilation of driving and melodic tunes that will satisfy a variety of musical tastes. Their influences include such artists as the All American Rejects, Foo fighters, David Bowie and All Time Low.
