Tammy King, up and coming gospel artist and songwriter, is one of the most gifted and talented artists of this decade. Let's get to know a little more about this special lady. Tammy's been singing for over 20 years and from an early age she knew God had a great purpose for her life. Her greatest desire is to be a world renowned gospel singer and a minister of the gospel. Though Tammy was born in Norfolk, VA, she relocated to New York City. Growing up in New York opened up a whole new world; some good experiences and some not so good. She started singing in nightclubs at 16 years old, and was actually offered a singing contract with one of New York's well-known singing groups. Because she was under age, Tammy's mother refused to sign the contract. She truly believed there was a greater plan for Tammy's life in the making. Tammy continued singing R&B music, but became somewhat rebellious. Through this and other experiences, she knew God was calling her to sing His praises and nothing else. But when she refused to obey God, she found herself unable to sing a note for years! Afterwards Tammy rededicated her life and music back to God. She then relocated back to Virginia. Tammy could not escape the mandate she'd been given by God as a psalmist to bring hope and peace to our troubled nation. From then till now, Tammy has labored tirelessly to further the gospel through anointed ministry. Tammy's just completed work on her debut CD entitled 'I'm Free' and is very excited about it's release. Because the journey was so hard and God was so faithful, she vows to continue writing and singing songs that relate to experiences we all go through; songs people can relate to. She's more determined than ever to let the whole world know through music that there is hope in Jesus Christ. Tammy has attended Antioch Bible College and is happy to say that she has found a church home where she serves under the leadership of Bishop John and Pastor Anne Gimenez of Rock Church International. This psalmist has blessed multitudes through such outreaches as Gospel Fest 2000, Azusa and many other conferences led by many of our nation's strongest leaders such as Minister Morris Cerrulo and the NAACP. Tammy's credits includes radio and television appearances such as New York's 'Great Legends of Gospel' to released 'II Chronicles 7:14' to the victims of the World Trade Center tragedy of September 11th, 2001 and 'B-Kat' which celebrates and showcases Women Making a Difference. She ministered on numerous occasions at the Virginia Board of Corrections. She is the founder and visionary of the annual 'I AM FREE Women's Conference' which is destined to be established as an icon for women desiring true freedom from bondage! If that were not enough, add acting credits as a lead actress for the smash off-Broadway production 'Right Woman, Wrong Man.' You will be blessed by this psalmist as she enters into the presence of the Lord to deliver a Rhema Word in song to God's people. The psalmist states, 'In this day and time, God's people need more than just a song, but a Word from the Lord!!!'
