Journey of My Heart
There have been exciting experiences since my first CD entitled \'With Me Again\'. I was offered an opportunity to return to NYC after nearly twenty years away. I found an exquisite penthouse apartment on the Upper West Side with a beautiful \'twenty something\' female performer. My beloved husband dutifully drove from Cape Cod to NYC to spend week-ends with me since I was performing 8 shows per week and it left little time to travel. It was my first holiday season away from home...but home came to me. Family and friends shared this journey of my heart and I was grateful to them and for them. On Christmas afternoon, we received a call that my mother in law was in the hospital. My husband drove to Lowell to be with his family while I stayed in NYC with our daughter. My in laws were so understanding about my responsibilities to the show. Two devoted girlfriends came to see the show, and I knew during that matinee performance, I had to say good-bye to Ma. After the matinee performance, I headed northeast and arrived in time to say good-bye. I have always been grateful that Ma waited for me. I sang \'Ave Maria\' to her and held her hand just hours before she passed away. Over the years, Ma had frequently said to me \'I love all my kids the same\'. On my drive from Lowell, Ma back to NYC, her memories haunted me...\'Sing You to Sleep\' was the gift Ma gave me. Several months after Ma\'s passing, another dear friend lost her Mom and I was reminded of the common thread that connects us all as we journey with our heart. This CD is about the journey we all take to pursue, find and live love. Saying good-bye to people we love, hello to newborn family and re-connecting with other family members, new friends and cementing old friendships. The journey of a daughter and son who graduate college and being an exploration in Nashville\'s music scene or bicycling thousands of miles and exploring Israel because it\'s your birthright. Wonder in watching another son learn law, or traveling with my husband through life\'s adventures. All of you make up the journey of my heart...I thank you. Tedi Marsh.
